Belly Jam

I am still exhausted.  I shot an event near Heather's house in Willow Grove, PA.

I will go into more detail tomorrow...after some sleep

What is this...baseball?

Well, I shot my first baseball game today and It was pretty interesting.  I spent the first portion of the game trying to stay out of peoples way.  After I finally felt like I was supposed to be there I decided to spend the second half making sure I didn't get hit by any fly balls.

I am pretty happy with the way the images came out.  I handed out my card to pretty much everyone.  I have 8 more gig to go through and hopefully will be finished tomorrow.  I automated as much as possible in Photoshop so it is not taking too long.  Basically I am just color correcting and cropping.  After I finish this batch I need to start with the trading cards and magazine covers.

I am a little sugared up on Slurpee so sleeping should be interesting.  I must try though.

This is how I want my images to look.  Well, maybe not the content, but the lighting.  No shadows, crisp and clean.  Hopefully I will be able to repeat this over and over.  We will see this weekend at the bellydance event.  I got my inks today and I should have all the paper I need.  I finished the TSMMA images tonight/today.  I finished 208 images in total.

I printed out the business cards for the baseball game with the password on the back.  I have to make sure I get all the kids names with their playing positions.

After only 3 months my unemployment ran out.  I received a message saying I will probably get an extension though.  I hope so or I am seriously fucked.

Time for sleep...

Band Practice
[info]immager
I just got back from band practice a little while ago.  I picked up a burger at the diner and now I am back home.  Shannon confirmed my baseball game shoot and I need to make up little business cards with the event link and password attached.  I took a break from the Elliptical today, but it is right back to it tomorrow.

My brain is racing

I should sleep well tonight

OK...

I have decided to invest a little more money for the event this weekend.  I bought some extra ink so I can print out pictures at the event so people can walk away with something.  I think I stand to make a little more that way.  Now to figure out what to charge.  I am using high quality paper and ink so I don't want to lose too much.  I am going to give the people an option to purchase outright or buy them later online.

gah...

Not such a good day

Got a little rattled today.  I spoke with my sister and she inquired why my prices were so high.  I start at $8 on my 4x6 pictures.  It reminded me how people will react when they are not used to certain prices.  I am worried if I charge too cheap I will be hurting myself in the future.  While I am certainly on the cheaper end of the spectrum I feel like I should go even lower.  This is all so new to me.

I spent most of the day searching other websites.  None of the other sport photographers were under the $8 mark and there were some pretty bad images out there.  Pet photography is insane!  Most start at $250 an hour and go up to $500 an hour and most only give 1 or 2 5x7 images.  I need to start visiting pet shops and such to get this started.  I made my business cards today and received the flyers from fedex.

I need to get everything set-up for Saturday's event and the baseball games.

TSMMA and more TSMMA

I have a total of 70 images up on the site for the people to download.  I am curious as to how many people will purchase images.  I should be getting my flyers tomorrow so I will go out and start handing them out.  I have to check to see if I have any of the nice business card templates.  The ones I made up are pretty crappy.  So curious as to how this will turn out.

dare I sleep?

Sunday
[info]immager
I feel good.  I woke up at 4:30 am and forced myself to sleep a little more so I wouldn't get tired at 9 pm.  I actually woke up at 10am nice and refreshed.  I worked out, ate a few oranges, drank some water and now I am kickin it Easter style.  Exercise and meds...I feel good.

I have been working on images and the website all day and night.  If I don't stop now my brain is going to ooze out.

I stopped working because I think I was getting a little too weird.  I have 2 baseball games to shoot next week.  I found a cheap rental place to rent a 100-400mm lens for $25 a day.  I just need to sell 3 of the smallest pictures to make that back.  Shannon hooked me up (his sons team).

So much to still do it is insane.

Insane I tells you!

A nice end to the week
[info]immager
I was nice and busy this week.  The big event was shooting at a Martial Arts school in Willow Grove, PA on Thursday.  I was very nervous because there were so many people and the school was very dark (from a photographer who couldn't use lights perspective).  I am pretty happy with the way the images came out though.

I finished 44 images and still have about 16 gig to go.  Big props go out to my brother and sister for getting me into the school and helping all along the way.  I also took all the contact information from the event and entered it into a database for future use.

No rest for the wicked...back to work :)
